The largest of the Iowa gambling dens is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, an American Indian gambling hall in Tama, with 127,669 sq.ft. of casino room, 1,500 slot machines, 30 table games, such as twenty-one, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and many varieties of poker; also three eatery's, daily shows, and casino classes. A further large Indian casino is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 sq.ft., 668 one armed bandits, and 14 table games. Also, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs never closes, with 38,500 square feet, 1,589 slots, 36 table games, and 4 eatery's. There are many other popular Iowa gambling halls, which includes Harrah's Council Bluffs, with 28,250 square feet, 1,212 slots, and 39 table games.

A tinier Iowa gambling hall is the Diamond Jo, a paddle wheel boat gambling hall in Dubuque, with 17,813 sq.ft., 776 slot machines, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend Riverboat, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 square feet, 535 slot machines, and 14 table games. An additional Iowa water based casino, The Isle of Capri, is open never closes, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 one armed bandits, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 sq.ft. paddle wheel boat casino in Clinton, has 506 one armed bandits, 14 table games, live entertainment, and Thursday chemin de fer events.

Iowa casinos offer an excellent deal of tax revenue to the state government of Iowa, which has enabled the funding of a good many state wide activities. Tourism has grown at an accelerated percentage accompanied with the requirement for companies and an increase in employment.
